We help innovative companies to build growth cultures and manage change making them more valuable, more enjoyable & more future proof.
Finding help to improve business performance is a challenge. Change can be really difficult. Sometimes it is hard to know where to start. Here at The Change Shed, we know that change involves a great deal of emotion. Changing your business means recognising that something needs to be done differently and perhaps better. External help can be a great platform to improve your business performance. But, change needs to be handled in the right way. Handled badly you run the risk of putting your customers off-side and losing your colleagues’ support.
We work hand in hand to get you great results.
At The Change Shed we have been helping organisations to change, to grow and improve for over 20 years.
We believe in getting results and we will help you to achieve them. The solutions that we develop together are designed for the long term. However, they will always contain things that you can do immediately, so you have a positive effect on your business next week, not next year.
You know your business. We know how to improve business performance.
Your vision + our experience = successful change.
Changing your business is difficult enough without a “clever” consultant tying everything up in intellectual knots. We use our expertise to enable you to improve, never to confuse.
We work with you at the heart of the change.
You are our customer and we never forget that. Consequently, at The Change Shed, we believe that great two-way communication is the single biggest factor in ensuring successful change. Your vision for change needs to be clear, supported and achievable. Our consultants won’t shy away from challenging you to be better, but we do believe you have the right to enjoy working with us! Our help is practical and down to earth. We will roll up our sleeves and work shoulder to shoulder with you. At The Change Shed, we will have a positive impact on our customers. Always.

My Story
I LOVE helping businesses to change and grow. As a Psychology student in the early 90’s, my first SME Business Consultant job was as a volunteer. I worked in a Yorkshire brewery (hear more in this podcast) to assist them in creating teams using Belbin team roles. I negotiated to conduct my dissertation there. From that early point, I was fascinated on how to help people work better – their behaviour, skills and motivation.
Subsequently, I was hired into Accenture’s Change Management service line. Here I learned my trade as a management consultant, with the world’s largest consultancy. Largely facilitating people and process-based transitions during huge IT projects, but also managing large organisational behavioural change projects. I was the “go-to-person” for advice on understanding what makes employees, especially in front-line roles, behave the way they do. I was also seconded for a period into HR, focussed on improving the UK recruitment process.
As my career continued, I found that I was increasingly involved in strategy. Creating the go-to-market strategies for a number of fast growing start-ups for example. Moreover, this strategy theme continued into my MBA studies, where I led a small team to win the Barclays Bank Annual Business Plan Competition at LUBS.
From 2005 I started work at the excellent Oakland Group where I developed a great appreciation of processes and operational improvement.
Hence, it is at the intersection of people, process and purpose (strategy) that my skills combine. And it is in their combination that your business can unlock incredible growth.
